We at Kelly-Hill have been blessed to have a great year so far, and as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families, we would like to take a moment to reflect on some of our highlights from 2015.

Safety is a major focus for our company and we were honored with two industry safety awards this year. We received the Platinum Level 2014 Contractor Safety from the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Assoc., as well as First Place in the Subcontractor Division from the Builder’s Association as part of their Safety Excellence Program. Our employees play a huge part in our winning these awards, and we are thankful to have such a great team!

On the construction side of things, we completed Kansas City Southern’s latest intermodal facility this July in Wylie, Texas. For this project, 13,000 track feet were constructed across strip tracks, as well as leads and mechanical track. We beat all three of our schedule milestones with at least two days, keeping us ahead of the schedule.

Lastly, we presented at and sponsored this year’s Outback Railroad Assoc. Annual Safety and Training Conference, held in Deadwood, SC. October 13-15th. Our General Superintendent for New Construction, presented on construction work procedure, highlighting specifics of tools and equipment, as well as worker safety in different weather and environmental conditions.

We would like to thank all of our employees who have helped make this a great year so far, and wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

We are proud to be a sponsor of the 2nd Annual Race 4 Domestic Violence Prevention 5K, held in Kansas City, KS on May 2. This non-profit is a resource for local community outreach, awareness and education on domestic violence prevention. There are many great organizations around the community that help interact with domestic violence victims and their families directly. Race 4 Domestic Violence Prevention helps support these organizations with education and funding. This is why we’re a sponsor of this fundraising 5K.

Community involvement is important to Kelly-Hill Company. We feel it’s vital to give back and be a good steward to our Kansas City community. If you’re in the area, please join us and sign up for the 5K at Wyandotte County Park in Kansas City, KS.
